All our tanks are manufactured in accordance with OFTEC guidelines. All tanks should be installed on a firm flat base surface supporting the entire base of the tank and should extend 300mm on all sides. The OFTEC booklet TI/131 gives full advice on the placement of tanks.
Bunded tanks;
Bunded tanks are now required to be installed at commercial, industrial, institutional and agricultural premises.

Single skin tanks are designed for the storage of heating fuels in domestic installations. However, the tank must be bunded if sited;
• within 50 meters of a well, borehole or spring
• within 10 meters of controlled water e.g. open drain, manhole cover, river, stream or lake
• where the tank is not visible from its fill point
• where the capacity exceeds 2500 litres
• Or when any potential spillage could run over ground into controlled waters...
